The Ultimate Moving Day Checklist for Vancouver

A smooth move is a planned move. This checklist covers the weeks before, the morning of, and the hours after — so nothing slips through the cracks.

Print it, work through it, and moving day will feel calm instead of chaotic.

2–4 weeks before

• Book your movers and confirm the date (get a free quote)
• Start packing the least-used rooms
• Book your building's elevator and loading bay if needed
• Arrange parking for the truck at both ends
• Update your address (ICBC, banks, subscriptions, Canada Post forwarding)

The week before

• Confirm arrival time with your movers
• Pack everything except daily essentials
• Defrost the fridge and drain any garden hoses
• Set aside valuables and documents to carry yourself
• Pack an "open-first" box: chargers, toiletries, snacks, a change of clothes

Moving day morning

• Strip beds and finish the last essentials box
